This program is our day to day work. Weekly meetings for youth to meet up and have a positive peer-to-peer interaction. This is a time for them to open up and address any issues that they have been having in their home and they will encourage one another with ideas that they have done to overcome in these situations. Every child will be assigned a Mentor who will follow up with them weekly to ensure that they are okay and safe especially if they are still in a domestic violence situation. Mentoring program for minors who’s parents are involved on either side of the situation; perpetrator or victim.

Below is an example of the mentoring program:


Ages 5 – 8

Once a week on Thursdays kids 5-8 yrs.’ old are able to come and interact with each other from 3pm to 6pm.

3:00 – 3:30 The first half hour will be snacks and drinks (provided by Y-Empowerment Inc.) & have positive interaction with each other.

3:30 – 5:00 For the next hour and a half, the kids will be provided with one of the many activities we have to offer.

Activities Include: Arts & craft, yoga, beginning poetry, beginning Spanish, Fire emergency’s, Karate, Music lessons, Story time, Personal Hygiene, Dance, Singing and learning songs, Exercise,  Movie night, trips to local events, Games & much more.

5:00 – 5:30 For this half hour we will sit down with the kids and allow them to open up and talk about anything that is going on in their life in a group session or one on one with the counselors.

5:30 – 6:00 We will end the day with snacks and drinks again allowing the kids to play with each other until their parents pick them up. And the parents can talk with the counselors about the time their kid has had and what they have progressed on.


Ages 9 – 12

Once a week on Tuesdays kids 9-12 yrs.’ old are able to come and interact with each other from 3pm to 6pm.

5:30 – 6:00 We will end the day with snacks and drinks again allowing the kids to play with each other until their parents pick them up. And the parents can talk with the counselors about the time their kid has had and what they have progressed on.


Ages 13 -17

Our teenage group will be more of an interaction with the outside world. We will still start the day with snacks and drinks (provided by Y-empowerment Inc.) but most of our intentions will be on active sports, music, and field trips and lessons to get them ready for high school or the working world.

​We will provide many activities to ensure that their first step into becoming young adults will not be a nervous one.

Activities Include: Poetry Hour, Yoga, fine arts, peer-to-peer mentoring, anger management classes, homework tutoring and numerous other activities. Arts & craft, yoga, Fire emergency’s, Karate, Music lessons, beginning Spanish classes, Personal Hygiene, Dance, Singing and learning songs and recording, Exercise,  Movie time with popcorn, trips to local events, Games & much more.
